The 64 team field for the NCAA Baseball Tournament was announced Monday afternoon and the Clemson Tigers received an at-large bid for the Oxford, MS regional hosted by Ole Miss. The Tigers will be the #3 seed and will face #2 Illinois at 4:00 PM Friday on ESPNU. Ole Miss is the #1 seed and will take on Jacksonville State in the day’s second game. The winner of this regional will face the winner from the Fayetteville, AR regional.

The Tigers were selected to the NCAA Tournament for the 32nd time in the last 33 years, 11th year in a row and 44th time overall, fifth most in NCAA history.

Coastal Carolina knew it was in the tournament by virtue of its Sun Belt Conference Tournament championship Sunday. The Chanticleers were placed in the Atlanta regional hosted by Georgia Tech as the #3 seed. They will face #2 Auburn at Noon on Friday on ESPNU. Georgia Tech is the #1 seed and will face Florida A&M in the second game of the day.

The national top 16 seeds are UCLA (47-8), Vanderbilt (49-10), Georgia Tech (41-17), Georgia (44-15), Arkansas (41-17), Mississippi St. (46-13), Louisville (43-15), Texas Tech (39-17), Oklahoma St. (36-18), East Carolina (43-15), Stanford (41-11), Ole Miss (37-25), LSU (37-24), North Carolina (42-17), West Virginia (37-20) and Oregon St. (36-18-1).  

The SEC led the nation with 10 selections. The ACC was next with 8.
