Khavon Moore

Clemson basketball coach Brad Brownell has been heavily shopping the transfer market this spring. Thursday night he landed his third recruit from another Division-1 program in 6-8 Khavon Moore of Texas Tech. He joins 6-4 Curran Scott and 5-11 Nick Honor of Fordham as the trio of transfers signed by Brownell. Only Scott is a grad transfer and currently eligible to play next season.

Moore was a heavily recruited high school prospect out of Macon, GA when he signed last year with Texas Tech, the highest rated recruit to ever sign with the Red Raiders. But he suffered a broken leg on January 16, 2018 during his high school senior season. He was out for exactly a year when he played in his first game for Texas Tech January 16th of this year.

That was the only game Moore would appear in with the Red Raiders. The school claimed he was still not totally healthy, a claim Moore disputed, and would be redshirted. That led to Moore eventually putting his name in the transfer portal.

Moore was a big time scorer in high school with over 2000 career points. His addition gives Clemson 12 on the roster for this season leaving Brownell with one available scholarship.
