Henry averaged 9.7 points for Tennessee Tech last season

Frank Martin and the South Carolina Gamecocks basketball team will welcome another post player into the fold as Micaiah Henry has announced his transfer from Tennessee Tech, as first reported by On the Radar Hoops. As a graduate transfer, the 6’9″ Henry will be eligible immediately.

Henry, started in 30 games last season for the Golden Eagles, averaging 9.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. Henry has already received his degree in finance and was drawn to USC, in part, due to the reputation of the Darla Moore School of Business.

Henry was efficient from the field last season, hitting on 57.9% of his shots, but did struggle at the foul line knocking down only 51.5%. The Decatur, GA product’s best outing last season came at Memphis when he scored 24 points in 23 minutes, hitting 8 of 9 shots.

As a freshman, Henry played in 32 games and started five. He averaged just over 3 points and 3 rebounds per game. He redshirted his freshman season with the Golden Eagles.

Henry takes the final spot on the roster for this year’s team assuming the scholarship that opened up with Felipe Haase transferred to Mercer.
