USC won its first SEC series of the season taking two of three from Kentucky. The Gamecocks, Wildcats and Alabama remain tied for the last remaining spot in the SEC Tournament with 7-20 league marks. Each will play one of the league’s top teams this weekend…USC at Mississippi State, Alabama at Georgia and Kentucky at home against Vanderbilt. The Gamecocks play their final home game of the season Tuesday night against Upstate.

Clemson dropped its fourth straight ACC series over the weekend at NC State. The Tigers have lost 15 of their last 21 games. They are 20-22 overall and 13-14 in the ACC. They’ll play at Coastal Carolina Tuesday before closing out the regular season at home against Wake Forest. The best Clemson can finish in its division is fourth, and overall it looks like the Tigers will be no better than the #8 seed for the tournament.
