Rising junior forward Felipe Haase has put his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal the school confirmed to media outlets following an initial report by John Whittle of TheBigSpur. Haase is the second Gamecock to decide to transfer following center Jason Cudd.
Haase, a native of Chile who played high school basketball in Florida, appeared in 32 games last season averaging six points and four rebounds per game. He also was one of the team’s top three-point threats at over 41%.
Haase’s departure opens a spot on the roster for next season that could be filled with a high school or junior college prospect, or perhaps a transfer. Thursday former Hammond star guard Seventh Woods announced his plans to transfer from North Carolina for his final season.
Haase was part of an 8-man recruiting class in 2017. Only one member of that class, Justin Minaya, remains.
