Clemson enjoyed a successful weekend in Blacksburg, VA sweeping the Virginia Tech Hokies 6-4, 14-1 and 12-9. The Tigers move into a tie for second in the ACC’s Atlantic Division with Louisville at 9-3. The Tigers are 22-6 overall. NC State leads at 10-2. The Tigers host Georgia Tuesday night and then will face Louisville at Doug Kingsmore Stadium this weekend.
USC lost its third straight SEC series losing the decisive game to Auburn Sunday afternoon 7-5. The Gamecocks left the tying runs on the bases in the bottom of the 9th. The Gamecocks are 17-11, the same record they had after 28 games last season. They are 2-7 in the SEC, 6th in the East. The Gamecocks face NC State in Charlotte Tuesday night and travel to Alabama this weekend.
