
Florida State extended its winning streak to eight and extended Clemson’s losing streak to three with a 77-64 win Tuesday night at Littlejohn Coliseum. The Seminoles swept the season series from the Tigers and improved to 21-5 and 9-4 in the ACC. Clemson fell to 15-11 and 5-8 in the ACC.
The Seminoles turned the game in their favor with a 15-2 run to close out the first half. They led 38-23 at the break and increased the lead early in the second half to 18. The Tigers managed to close to within seven with eight minutes to play but that was their last threat. The Seminoles responded with an 8-1 run to put the game away.
The bigger and deeper Seminoles came at the Tigers in five-man waves. The scored 36 points in the paint, outrebounded the Tigers by 11 and had 19 second chance points. And their bench outscored Clemson’s 30-2.
Marcquise Reed led Clemson with 20 points. Mfiondu Kabengele was too much for Clemson inside with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Clemson is back in action Saturday afternoon at home against Boston College.
