USC and #1 ranked Tennessee meet Wednesday night for the second time in 15 days. January 29th in Columbia the Gamecocks played the Vols close for 27 minutes, but the final 13 belonged to the Vols who outscored the Gamecocks 32-12 down the stretch to pull away to a 22 point victory.
Chris Silva was big for the Gamecocks that night with 28 points and 10 rebounds. But outside of Tre Campbell’s 14 points, there was little offensive support. And defensively the Gamecocks had no answers for Admiral Schofield, Grant Williams and Jordan Bone who combined for 66 points.
This week Frank Martin talked about what his team must do differently if they are to defeat a #1 ranked team for just the second time in the program’s history.
