The Clemson Tigers failed to overcome a 15-point second half deficit as they fell to 0-2 in ACC play with a 61-53 loss at Syracuse Wednesday night.
A 10-1 run deep in the half came too late for Clemson, who cut the double-digit lead to two possessions, but could not come closer.
Clemson lost despite a 16-point night from Marcquise Reed along with a 14-point, seven-rebound night from Elijah Thomas.
Elijah Hughes led four players in double figures for Syracuse with 14 points.
The Tigers struggled against shooting against Syracuse’s zone, managing just 36 percent from the field and 5-of-20 from beyond three.
