USC commitment DL Jahkeem Green (6-4 305) of Sumter and Highland JC, KS does not graduate until May at the earliest and is not sure if he’ll sign this month. He said he still has some classes to complete but he’s confident he’ll meet the academic requirements to be able to transfer. He said he’s in touch with USC defensive tackles coach Lance Thompson and they spoke last week. He’s also talked with Will Muschamp. He said the Gamecocks are sticking with him at this point. Green said Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi State also have offered but he remains committed to the Gamecocks. He visited unofficially for the UTC game. This season Green had 67 tackles with 7 tackle for loss and 2.5 sacks. He has three years to play two.
CB Jaydon Hill had in home visit Sunday night with Florida after visiting over the weekend. His public expressions continue to indicate he has no plans of flipping from the Gators.
OL Darius Washington of Pensacola, FL said Sunday night he’s not doing any further interviews related to his recruiting. He did acknowledge that USC is still in contention for him. Washington has been committed to Mississippi State. He’s also considering Miami. He took official visits to all three. USC offensive line coach Eric Wolford visited last week.
CB Dequanteous Watts of Atlanta said he hears from USC’s Will Muschamp and Travaris Robinson every day. He said Muschamp texts every morning and then they talk. He’s thinks area recruiter Bryan McClendon will visit this week. USC is in a good place with him. “I feel good about them, they are one of my top schools right now with Ole Miss and UCF.” Watts took an unofficial visit to USC for the UTC game. He might go to UCF or Ole Miss this weekend and he plans to visit USC in January. He’s also set January 7th for his announcement date but he said he’ll take visits after that.
Clemson target RB Jerrion Ealy, an Ole Miss commitment, took an official visit to Mississippi State over the weekend. Clemson has been trying to get him in for a visit.
Spring Valley PK Alex Herrera announced Sunday he has accepted a preferred walk-on opportunity from USC. “A big part of my decision was based on the fact that I’ve grown up Columbia and have attended games growing up. Coach Hutzler has also been extremely supportive and helpful throughout the entire process. I love his passion and excitement for the game. I’m really excited about learning and working under his leadership.” Herrera also is a punter. He was 10-13 on field goals with a long of 44 yards and averaged 41 yards per punt this season.
2020 ATH Trenton Yowe of Calera, AL decommitted from Mississippi State Sunday night and reopened his recruiting. He said he’s been in touch with Clemson recruiter Todd Bates and he wants him to visit. He’s also hearing now from USC.
DE Dallaz Corbitt of Gray Collegiate in Columbia remains committed to UCF but he’s now also getting a lot of interest from Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons have invited him for an official visit but he’s not sure if he will before he signs this month. He’s had basketball and he’s at the Shrine Bowl this week. He has taken two unofficials to UCF.
ATH Xavier Legette of Mullins took an official visit to Coastal Carolina over the weekend.
Roswell, GA LB Tyron Hopper took his official visit to Florida over the weekend. He has been a Gator commitment and Sunday he told the Florida Rivals site he’s “thousand percent” committed to Florida. He took an official visit to USC for the Akron weekend.
West Florence RB Ailym Ford took an official visit to UT Chattanooga over the weekend.
WR/DB Quincy Riley of AC Flora committed to Middle Tennessee State.
Auburn freshman RB Asa Martin is transferring after the staff botched his redshirt options. He was offered by Clemson last recruiting season but the Tigers focused on Lyn-J Dixon.
USC offered 2020 WR Kentron Poitier (6-4 190) of Miami. Auburn, North Carolina, Pitt and Syracuse are some of his other offers.
2020 CB Christian Miller of Hilton Head was offered by South Alabama.
Chester OL Wyatt Tunall flipped his commitment from Appalachian State to North Carolina.
2020 CB Jalen Harrell of Miami was offered by Clemson. Some other offers are USF, Louisville, Cincinnati, UCF and others.
