The question to USC receiver Deebo Samuel Saturday after the Akron game was met with a quizzical look and guarded response. Are you considering skipping the bowl game and starting preparation for the NFL Draft? Samuel dodged the question as he had so many would-be tacklers in his career. But the answer came down today via an InstaGram post: Samuel has played his last game at USC.Here is Samuel’s InstaGram post
Samuel leaves USC as one of the most prolific offensive players in school history. He was just named Monday to the first team of the AP All-SEC team as an all-purpose performer. His 62 catches for 882 yards and 11 touchdowns are all team highs.
His 148 career receptions are 8th all time at USC and he’s tied for 9th in receiving yards with 2076. For his career, Samuel scored 28 touchdowns, tied for fourth on the all-time list.
The focus now shifts to junior receiver Bryan Edwards and whether or not he will return for his senior season. He was non-committal after Saturday’s game as well when asked about his plans.
