RB Michel Dukes of First Baptist has taken an official visit to East Carolina and won’t take any more until after his season. He does plan to take an unofficial visit to Clemson at some point. He said he and running backs coach Tony Elliott talk a lot. He’s also still hearing from USC and he said more than likely he’ll get to a USC game as well. He’s expecting East Carolina to scout him Friday. Dukes said he’s not really thinking that much about recruiting at this point and will wait until after the season to focus on that.
OL Jakia Clark (6-3 260) Loganville, GA, a one-time Auburn commitment, made an unofficial visit to Clemson for the Georgia Southern game. He’s being recruited as a center. He has not been offered by the Tigers and he was told they are looking at another player at his position but they want him to come back for more games and keep in touch. “I’m going to continue to keep interest in them but if it gets to a point where it’s taking too long obviously I have to focus on other schools and do what’s best for me and eventually choose another school. Clark visited Louisville last weekend and plans to officially visit Arkansas State and possibly Virginia. He’s also working on setting up an official visit to Illinois.
SAF Dedrrick Holmes of Evans, GA, who will take an unofficial visit to USC Saturday, will take one to Auburn next weekend for the Tennessee game.
USC offered 2021 ATH Andre Turrentine of Nashville. LSU, Ole Miss and Tennessee are some other early offers for him.
2022 OL Eli Henderson (6-3 240) of Byrnes plans to attend the USC-Missouri game Saturday after getting an invitation from the Gamecocks.
6-7 Christian Brown of Powder Springs, GA, formerly of Columbia, will take an official visit to Georgia this weekend. He’s also taken officials to Clemson and UNLV. He said last month the Tigers have not done much with him recently.
2020 USC #Gamecocks target 6-6 Terrance Williams of Washington, DC will take an official visit to Stanford this weekend. He’s already taken an official visit to Virginia.
RHP Andy Peters (6-2 185) of Logan (JC), IL committed to USC. He’ll be a sophomore this season at Logan. He’s a native of Morris, IL.
2021 SS Michael Braswell of Smyrna, GA committed to USC. He also drew recruiting interest from Clemson, Arizona State, Florida State, LSU, UCLA, Florida and Vanderbilt. Here’s a Perfect Game scouting report on him from the summer: “Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.11 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, quickness to feet with light actions moving to and through the ball, shows athleticism up the middle, smooth glove work out front at the ball, full arm action through the backside and shows solid arm strength across the diamond with carry and accuracy to first base. Also pitched and shows upside on the mound; big rock step moving into a high leg lift up past belt, moving parts to delivery but does a nice job of staying on time and filling the zone from a higher release point. Fastball topped out at 88 mph and lived down in the zone with hard angle out of hand, some effort at release but still projects very well. Changeup is best of both secondaries, late fading life at 78 mph with replicated release point. Curveball shows 12-6 shape with some depth up to 73 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a square stance in the box and utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at start of swing. Quiet hands and keeps them inside the ball well, generates some loft but works mostly with a linear path through the zone. Nice tools offensively, full swing plane through the zone with present bat speed and comfort working to the middle and pull side parts of the field. Very good student. Named to Junior National Top Prospect List.”
