SAF Dedrrick Holmes has been a frequent visitor to USC and would like to make Williams-Brice Stadium his next home field. The Gamecocks and Auburn are his two favorites and if he has his druthers, he’ll be joining the Gamecocks in the future.
Holmes visited USC in March for a spring practice, in June for a camp session and last month for the Georgia game. The two sides have gotten to know each other well with Travaris Robinson in regular contact. Holmes has also talked with Will Muschamp. The Gamecocks offered in July and Holmes believes it’s a commitable offer based off his conversations.
“I talked to them two days ago and Coach T-Rob wanted me to come up there for this game,” Holmes said. “I told him I wanted to commit but I wanted to take (recruiting) pictures first. It’s a good chance, it’s a high chance, of a commitment this Saturday.”
Holmes said he’s also talking personally with Muschamp and the head man likes him as well.
“I’ve seen him in person and talked to him,” Holmes said. “He said I’m a good ballhawk and have great vision of the field. A lot of the same things Coach T-Rob was saying. They really like my film.”
Auburn and Georgia Tech also have been talking with Holmes and both have invited him for unofficial visits.
Holmes said he’ll be joined on the visit by his grandfather, one of his coaches and two teammates. He plans to arrive a couple of hours before kickoff and hopes to have the chance to talk with the coaches following the game.
Holmes led the state of Georgia in interceptions last season with nine.
