When Syracuse Head Coach Dino Babers walked to the podium for his weekly press conference on Monday, he had no idea how in flux the quarterback situation was at Clemson.
One of the beat writers from Syracuse asked him about the announcement of Trevor Lawrence as Clemson’s starter, and he immediately conceded that makes his preparation easier preparing for one quarterback instead of two.
The Orange also have the added motivation of trying to build upon their win over the Tigers from last year, as they handed Clemson its only regular season loss last year in central New York.
Syracuse comes into the game 4-0, but only one of those wins came against Power Five competition, beating Florida State at home in Week Three.
Babers says he’s trying to refocus his team away from the jubilation of a year ago, as he looks to get to five wins for the first time as Head Coach of the Orange.
