On his Sunday teleconference, Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney sounded optimistic his starting quarterback should practice and play this week after getting injured against Georgia Southern.
Kelly Bryant missed the second half of Saturday’s win over the Eagles with what was termed as a “chest bruise” as Swinney said his heartbeat was racing and he was having trouble breathing after falling awkwardly near the end of the first half.
Swinney said they will practice him on Monday in a green non-contact jersey, which does not change things drastically for him as the Tigers do not hit their quarterbacks in practice. The Head Coach said barring any unforeseen developments he expects both Bryant and freshman QB Trevor Lawrence to play this week at Georgia Tech.
One other injury note from Swinney is that OL Cade Stewart was better Sunday and will be monitored throughout the week.
