DL Jaquaze Sorrells made another appearance at USC Saturday for the Georgia game, this one also an unofficial visit. It’s the third visit with the Gamecocks for the former Florida commitment and he’s scheduled for an official visit with them this coming weekend though he said Sunday night he’s not sure yet about that visit. “It went well,” he said of this visit. “I was able to get my family up there this time.” Sorrells had set August 27th for a commitment announcement but passed on that date. Asked when he might make a commitment, he responded, “Whenever the time is right.” LSU, Oregon, Alabama and Florida State have been the other top schools on his list.
RB Michel Dukes of First Baptist made an official visit to East Carolina over the weekend. “It was great. The game was great, the atmosphere was unbelievable. Really enjoyed my time. They think i can come in and help the program right away. I think I can anywhere I go.” Dukes said he will visit Virginia Tech later this month on a date to be determined.
2020 DL Marquis Black (6-5 280) of McDonough, GA visited USC Saturday. “It was good and the atmosphere was nice,” he said. “The D-line coach was glad I made it and told me to keep doing what I’m doing and stay healthy. They very big and explosive and real physical and that’s the type of people I want to play beside. Definitely will be in my top colleges list.” He plans to visit UCF this weekend.
SAF Deddrick Holmes of Evans, GA was one of the uncommitted 2019 targets at USC Saturday for the Georgia game. was at USC Saturday. Other confirmed visitors include 2020 DL Alex Huntley of Hammond, 2020 OL Seth McLaughlin of Buford, GA, 2020 LB Devyn Curtis of Nashville, 2021 OL Eli Sutton of Nashville and 2021 LB Dameon Wilson of King’s Mountain, NC.
ATH Quavaris Crouch of Charlotte, who had said he would visit USC for the Georgia game, instead went to NC State Saturday.
6-6 Josiah James of Porter Gaud took his first official visit over the weekend to Tennessee. He will visit Clemson this weekend and Duke the last weekend of the month. Also this coming weekend, 6-11 Malcolm Wilson of Ridge View will visit Georgetown.
6-11 2021 John Butler Jr. of Christ Church visited USC Saturday. He recently was offered by Clemson.
6-10 Jared Jones of Powder Springs, GA has set an in home visit with USC for September 13th according to basketball writer Russ Wood. He has four official visits set with Northwestern, Georgia, Minnesota and Mississippi State. LSU and Wake Forest also are working on in home visit dates.
Clemson is one of the four schools set for in home visits with New Jersey guard Jalen Gaffney according New York based basketball recruiting reporter Adam Zagoria. The Clemson visit is scheduled for September 12th. St. John’s was scheduled for Sunday. Xavier is on the 11th and Connecticut is on the 12th.
