Clemson not only opens its season Saturday afternoon against Furman. The Tigers are also going to be in position that day to add another commitment to the 2020 class. CB Luke Hill of Washington, DC will announce his college commitment that day and he’s had Clemson at the top of his list since the summer.
“The relationship I have with Coach (Mike) Reed,” Hill said in explaining what has Clemson in such good shape with him. “The fan base on social media and on Twitter. Whenever I talk to Coach Reed, it’s mostly football and life. He basically keeps telling me to keep working and keep working hard. He tells me to keep listening to my coaches.”
As he works on his decision and looks over the final data, Hill said the depth chart at cornerback is something he’s closely examining among the schools.
“Yes, definitely. Playing time is a main factor, but the main thing with Coach Reed is that Clemson plays with six DBs on the field at one time,” he said. “Playing time becomes less important when you know there are six DBs because there is more opportunity.”
Hill visited Clemson earlier this summer for a camp session. He also visited Alabama. They are on his short list along with USC, Florida, Maryland, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Penn State, Virginia Tech and Texas A&M.
