Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney has failed to name a front-runner in the race for the right to be the Tigers’ prime signal-caller, but said the incumbent has made his case to keep the job.
Swinney said Monday last year’s starter Kelly Bryant has had a good couple of days of practice and has “not done anything to lose the starting job” heading into Tuesday’s situational scrimmage.
Despite that statement, true freshman Trevor Lawrence still seems to impress Swinney and the offensive coaching staff, as they’ve declined to call the competition dead.
The Head Coach also praised redshirt freshman Chase Brice, who Swinney said has made the most progress of all three quarterbacks this Fall.
