Clemson Athletics has announced a contract extension for Head Coach Brad Brownell through the 2023-24 season.
Brownell’s new contract pays him $15 million over the next six seasons, or $2.5 million in average annual value.
The Tigers reached the Sweet 16 for the first time in 21 years under Brownell’s guidance, earning his 300th collegiate victory last year in Clemson’s triumph over Florida.
In a statement provided by Clemson Athletics, Athletic Director Dan Radakovich said,
“We have a tremendous amount of momentum and excitement in our basketball program and that is a testament to Brad’s leadership. This new agreement demonstrates to Brad our continued strong commitment and support to him, his assistant coaches and to our basketball program.”
Brownell, through a statement, said he was “extremely thankful and blessed” to coach at Clemson, and that he looks forward to “build on the success of last season”.
