Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney and two of his assistants joined SportsTalk at his annual Media Golf Outing on Tuesday.
Swinney enters his tenth full year at the helm of Clemson, returning all but 58 offensive carries and 3/4 of their receptions from receivers a year ago.
One thing the Clemson coach also inherits is a quarterback controversy, where he feels that despite Kelly Bryant will be the starter going into Fall Camp, he’s not guaranteed anything beyond that.
Swinney believes they can win with Bryant, along with freshmen Trevor Lawrence and Chase Brice, who have yet to take collegiate snaps outside of Spring Practice.

On the defensive side, Defensive Coordinator Brent Venables returns a unit that boasts all four starters on the defensive line, including three players who chose to return to the Tigers instead of starting their NFL careers.
Venables will have to replace leading tackler Dorian O’Daniel, and key secondary pieces Ryan Carter and Van Smith.
He believes the injury attrition the Tigers faced last year, especially in the defensive backfield, should provide them more experience there this season:

Clemson’s next chance to meet with the media will be Thursday at the ACC Kickoff Event in Charlotte. The Tigers will send Dabo Swinney along with offensive lineman Mitch Hyatt and defensive lineman Clelin Ferrell.
