A developing recruiting story from the Lowcountry is that of DE Dal’Mont Gourdine (6-5 240) of Garrett Academy. Nebraska is his biggest offer at this point though he also has offers from UCF, Coastal Carolina, Troy, FIU, Georgia State and others. He’s camping this week at Clemson hoping to add the Tigers to his list.
“They wanted to see me in camp because they didn’t know about me until the end of May and they wanted me to come to camp because they never got to see me,” sad Gourdine who also visited Clemson for a spring practice and the spring game. “I think I need to show them that I’m as good as any player in 5A. Just because my school is 2A, I think that’s the reason why they haven’t offered. It would be very special because it’s in-state.”
Gourdine also went to UCF’s spring game and has also visited Georgia State. He said he’s also hearing some from USC and is considering going there Saturday for a camp. Gourdine, who had 15 sacks last season, said UCF is his favorite at this point.
