Few basketball coaches in America are working the transfer market better than Clemson’s Brad Brownell. Saturday night he got a commitment from 6-10 grad transfer Javan White of Oral Roberts. White graduated Saturday, in three years, and announced his decision for Clemson over LSU Saturday night.
White visited Clemson and LSU last week. He also took official visits to Nevada and Massachusetts.
Last season, White averaged 10 points and 9 rebounds per game. He shot 51% from the floor, 40% from three and 55% from the line. He had nine double-doubles last season and posted career highs in points with 25 and rebounds with 20.
White is a native of Ames, IA who went to Oral Roberts in 2015 and played in 23 games. He redshirted the next season and started 29 of 32 games this past season.
White is eligible immediately for the Tigers and will have two years of eligibility. He’s the 5th member of the 2018 class and the second transfer. As things stand now, Brownell’s roster for next season, which now numbers 12, will include 5 transfers.
