Clemson basketball coach Brad Brownell has had success with transfers in recent years and he’s dipped back into that market. Jon Rosthstein of CBSSports.com reported first that 6-9 sophomore Jonathan Baehre of UNC-Asheville will transfer to Clemson, a report later confirmed by the school to the Asheville-Citizen-Times.
Baehre visited Clemson last weekend. He will have to sit out next season and will have two seasons of eligiblity remaining.
Baehre is a native of Germany who played a season of high school basketball in Georgia. He started 21 games this past season and averaged 7.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. His best game came against Southern Cal in the NIT when he had 28 points and 14 rebounds.
By adding Baehre to the roster, Brownell now has 11 scholarships accounted for leaving him two to work with for the 2019 class.
