Two key cogs of South Carolina’s Final Four run a season ago made their return to Colonial Life Arena Saturday during the Gamecocks’ matchup with Auburn.
Sindarius Thornwell of the Clippers and Thunder guard PJ Dozier received their commemorative rings signifying the Gamecocks’ 2017 regional championship during a halftime ceremony Saturday.
Thornwell and Dozier practiced with the Gamecocks in an effort to try and turn around a six-game losing streak and inject some fresh energy into the program.
“We take pride in leaving a legacy, we’ve been with some of those guys in the locker room. They’ve seen us lead,” Thornwell said. “That’s why we came to practice with them yesterday, to give them confidence, teaching them, but at the same time going at them.”
