New USC quarterbacks coach Dan Werner brought his prospects list from his earlier stops with him to Columbia. One of the first on the list he contacted was Jack Miller (6-4 210) of Scottsdale, AZ, regarded as one of the nation’s top quarterback prospects in his class. Miller was more than happy to hear from Werner who made him an offer to join the Gamecock program.
“I’m super excited about it. South Carolina is a place I feel like I would fit in and I’m super interested,” Miller said. “I’m planning on coming down there this summer.”
And that won’t be the first time Miller and Werner will connect. He said their relationship games back a couple of years.
“I first met Coach Werner in the 8th grade when he was recruiting me at Ole Miss,” Miller said. “He said he likes that I get better every time he sees me and my size is perfect. And they’ll do the same thing on offense.”
Other offers for Miller include Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA, Florida State and Ohio State.
According to MaxPreps, in 10 games last season Miller passed for 1735 yards and 20 touchdowns with 6 interceptions and rushed for 306 yards and 4 touchdowns.
