Blue skies and temperatures in the upper 70’s greeted the USC football team this morning at Jesuit High School in Tampa as the Gamecocks went back to full pace prep for Monday’s Outback Bowl meeting with Michigan. Everyone who was expected to practice did so including running backs Rico Dowdle and AJ Turner who are coming off injuries. Both were in full pads. Dowdle showed no signs of the lower leg injury that sidelined him but Turner did run with a slight limp. Starting offensive lineman Donnell Stanley was in a yellow jersey and did not participate in team drills. His injury was not disclosed.
The Wolverines are eight point favorites and are expected to try and mow down the Gamecock defense with a big offensive line and a power running game. Following Wednesday’s practice several Gamecock defensive players met with the media to share their thoughts on the season and the matchup with Michigan.
