Clemson offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell Tuesday had what likely will be his final in person meeting with OL Jordan McFadden of Dorman before McFadden makes his plans publicly known. McFadden has been committed to Virginia Tech since July but has switched his favorite’s status to Clemson.“We didn’t talk as much about football, we just talked about random stuff,” McFadden said. “He just came to say hello and just talk to me a little bit. He was just saying that I definitely have the opportunity to play there, plenty of opportunity to play there.”
McFadden said he once again shared with Caldwell his feelings about things at this point.
“Just that I really like Clemson. He knows kind of how I feel about them and everything”
McFadden won’t be an early enrollee so Dabo Swinney won’t make his in home visit until January. Virginia Tech coach Justin Fuente and assistants plan to be in on Thursday.
McFadden also confirmed Tuesday night he will not play in the Shrine Bowl due to the knee injury he suffered in Saturday’s 5A championship game. He said the knee was feeling better Tuesday but he will have an MRI Friday.
He does not plan to do anything publicly regarding a commitment announcement until after dealing with his knee issue Friday.
