The South Carolina Gamecocks overcame a sloppy opening half of play with a better second half, earning an 80-64 win over the Wyoming Cowboys on Wednesday.
Chris Silva was the only Gamecock player who didn’t seem to struggle in the opening half, scoring 11 of team-high 19 points in the first 20 minutes to go along with 10 rebounds.
Felipe Haase turned in his best performance of his freshman season, scoring a career-high 17 points with nine rebounds.
Frank Booker added 16 points and made a couple of stout defensive plays by taking charges underneath.
South Carolina forced 18 turnovers from Wyoming, scoring 24 points off of turnovers. The Gamecocks shook off a 36 percent shooting 1st Half to shoot 55 percent in the 2nd Half.

After the game, Frank Martin, expressed his displeasure with his team’s inconsistency for the second game in a row.
The Gamecocks (7-2) conclude a three-game home stretch Saturday when they host Coastal Carolina at noon in Colonial Life Arena.
