Clemson shot 50 percent from the field and Donte Grantham led four players in double-figures with 14 points as the Tigers coasted to an 85-57 victory over Western Carolina.
Gabe DeVoe and Elijah Thomas had 11 points each, and Marcquise Reed built off his good performance in the final exhibition game against Tennessee with 10 points.
Clemson’s 27-of-54 from the field was a welcome change for the Tigers, who managed just 26 percent in the opening half against the Volunteers. The Tigers took advantage of the over-aggressive Catamounts, getting to the line 31 times and making 25 attempts.
Brad Brownell addressed the media following the win:
The Tigers have a quick turnaround as they play Sunday afternoon against North Carolina A&T at 2 PM at Littlejohn Coliseum.
