DB Tyreke Johnson of Jacksonville has taken an official visit to UCLA and will take one this weekend to Ohio State. On November 17th he will take his final official visit to Clemson. After that, he will choose one of those three. And Johnson, contrary to some Internet projections that he’s Clemson bound, wants it known that he does not have a favorite at this point.
But, that does not mean he doesn’t have a strong feeling for Clemson.
“I love the Tigers, it’s a program that’s growing and they are proving themselves to be a dynasty, and it’s a place I can see myself at” Johnson said. “They like how versatile I am, how I can play corner and safety and special teams, and how physical and long I am. I bring another dimension to the game.”
Johnson has visited Clemson before and has watched the secondary and the defensive staff in action, and he liked what he saw.
“I trust Coach Venables and and Coach Venables is going to put me in the right hands to become the best player possible,” he said.
Johnson said his parents will join him on the visit. He will be an early graduate and he said he will make his decision no later than December 3rd.
Clemson also is recruiting Johnson’s teammate and fellow defensive back Chamarri Conner.
