DE Joe Boletepeli of Wake Forest, NC has scheduled his first two official visits. He’s going to Maryland this coming weekend and to Michigan State the following weekend. He was at NC State last week unofficially for the Louisville game. Boletepeli said USC is still in touch and wants him to visit for a game. “I talked to them last week and they are somewhat interested. I might come in for an unofficial to see the environment.” He said USC, NC State, Maryland and Michigan State are his top schools with North Carolina, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech and Louisville also recruiting him. This season he has 50 tackles and 7 sacks.
Shrine Bowl WR Sam Pinckney of Greenwood, the school’s all-time leading receiver, will take an unofficial visit to LSU this Saturday with his mom. He plans to take an official there in November. He’s also going to Virginia Tech for an unofficial visit October 21st. Pinckney said LSU and Virginia Tech are on him pretty hard at this point, both have offered and he hears from them regularly. He said North Carolina also is showing interest. He’s not hearing much from USC or Clemson.
Christ Church PK Cliff Gandis took an unofficial visit to USC last weekend. He’s also been to Stanford unofficially.
2019 DE Savion Jackson of Clayton, NC has USC and Clemson in his top ten. They are joined by Alabama, Tennessee, Louisville, North Carolina, Ohio State, Penn State, Virginia Tech and NC State.
The USC women missed on 6-2 Aquira DeCosta of Sacramento, CA when she announced a commitment to Baylor.
SS George Callil of McLennan JC in Texas committed to USC. He’s a native of Australia. Last season he batted .304 with 3 homers and 26 RBIs.
