If OL Jordan McFadden of Dorman was hoping for clarity in his decision between Clemson and Virginia Tech by virtue of his unofficial visit to Blacksburg for Saturday night’s game, he didn’t find it. He remains committed to Virginia Tech but Clemson, his childhood favorite, weighs heavy on his mind. In fact, during the game he found himself going back and forth rooting for each team.
“It was a lot of fun, the atmosphere was really good,” McFadden said of the visit to Lane Stadium. “The fans were really into the game. It was just a fan experience. At times I was rooting for Virginia Tech and at times I was rooting for Clemson.”
McFadden said he got a chance to talk with some of the Tech coaches and they expressed their happiness that he and his mom made it to the game. He said they did not talk much about his commitment status with them.
“It’s about how it was before,” he said of the strength of his commitment. “It was good to get down there and talk tl the coaches and hang out with them for a while, but knowing how I’ve liked Clemson forever, I’m just kind of like stuck in the middle a little bit.” On a 1-10 scale, he called his commitment strength a 6.5.
McFadden said as of of now he’s not planning to go to Clemson this Saturday though later in the week his plans could change. He said the Clemson coaches really want him back for the Florida State game. And Virginia Tech wants him to return for the North Carolina game and he might go back there for that game.
