6-5 Aaron Nesmith of Porter Gaud committed Tuesday to Vanderbilt. He chose the Commodores over USC and Florida. Nesmith said the academic opportunities and the chance to develop into an NBA prospect were the primary reasons he chose Vanderbilt. He averaged 19 points per game last season.
5-11 PG Anthony Nelson of South Kent, CT has set his official visit to Clemson for October 6th. Clemson coach Brad Brownell was in for a visit with Nelson Monday. “He said that they need a playmaker to come in and impact their program right away.” Nelson will take an official visit to Dayton this weekend and one to Seton Hall September 29th. He’s not sure if he’ll take any other visits.
TE Elijah McAllister of Rumson, NJ was at USC last Saturday night for the Kentucky game. “Visit was great. Atmosphere was great. The passion the players played with, everything was just electric.” USC has not yet offered McAllister but he’s hopeful for one after his senior film is reviewed.
OL Jamaree Salyer of Atlanta told Rivals that Clemson and Georgia are his top two at this point with Ohio State, Notre Dame and Stanford also on his short list. He plans to make his decision known December 20th.
2019 DE Khris Bogle of Ft. Lauderdale is a hotly recruited prospect in his class and Clemson is one of his offers. “They offered me early and not many kids are blessed to have that offer. They are one of the schools that I really like. They’ve been playing good. I’m really impressed.” Bogle also has offers from Miami, Florida State, Florida, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon and others. He hopes to visit Clemson this season if he can work it into his schedule.
