USC already has a commitment from a 2019 defensive standout from Cordele, GA in LB Ahdarrious Gee. The Gamecocks are now working on his 2019 teammate DL DeAngelo Griffin (6-1 295) and offered him over the weekend, the second SEC team to do so following Arkansas. “It was a great feeling. That’s who I wanted my first SEC offer to come from. Coach Mike Peterson coach Travaris Robinson like the way I did at camp and my film was awesome. They love the way I how can move being 300 pounds.” Griffin said he and Gee are best friends and grew up wanted to attend the same college. Some of his other offers are Wake Forest, Georgia Southern, UAB and Western Kentucky. He had 95 tackles and 3 sacks last season.
Two more announcements of note this week for USC and Clemson interests. OL Jerome Carvin of Cordova, TN is a USC target but has had Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi State high up on his list. He will announce Wednesday. And DE Azeez Ojulari of Marietta, GA plans to announce his college decision Thursday. Ojulari has said his decision likely would come from the group consisting of Clemson, USC, Auburn, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee.
Auburn commitment DB Quindarious Monday of Atlanta told 247Sports he will take other officials to Clemson and Georgia. Monday camped at Clemson this summer and was thought to be a strong possibility for those Tigers before committing to Auburn.
OL Jackson Carman of Fairfield, OH told Scout.com following a scrimmage Friday he will take his five official visits to Clemson, Ohio State, Southern Cal, Florida State and Wisconsin. He will be an early graduate so the visits will come during the season or into December.
WR Josh Vann of Tucker, GA told TheBigSpur he’s probably going to announce his college commitment after his game Saturday. He has been trying to decide between USC and Georgia.
2020 RHP Cade Austin of Chapin committed to USC.
