WR Josh Vann of Tucker, GA is stuck on USC and Georgia. He will pick one of those SEC East rivals and is looking at the second week of his season for doing so. His decision has gone back and forth between the two though he has been holding with the Gamecocks as his favorite for several weeks now. The question for Will Muschamp is, can he hold that position with Vann to the finish line?
“I feel like I’m getting closer, probably two games in, I feel like that’s when I’ll commit or go public,” Vann said. “I feel like South Carolina is in front, I have a deep feel about them. At the same time, it would be hard to turn down the home team.”
Vann said both teams are in regular contact with him with Georgia a little more aggressive in that area than the Gamecocks. But, he said, that’s by design.
South Carolina told me from day one that they wouldn’t be hitting me up every day, and I kind of like that,” he said. “I hear from them every so often. Coach Muschamp, he hits me up every once in awhile. It’s not an everyday thing. Georgia hits me up almost like every day now. I feel like that’s kind of weird. They weren’t hitting me up like they do now until I came back from The Opening. They hit me up more. They want me bad so they hit me up like almost every day.”
Vann last visited USC for the prospects cookout in late July and he has had the Gamecocks at the top of his list since that weekend.
