WR Jordan Adams of Cary, NC, a former quarterback at Blythewood, announced Thursday night he has narrowed his decision to Clemson and North Carolina and will announce his choice at The Opening which begins June 28th in Oregon. Adams also is a highly regarded baseball prospect and plans to play both sports in college. His father is the defensive line coach for the Tar Heels and formerly coached at USC. The Gamecocks offered Adams during the process but did not make a strong push and faded over time as a factor. Adams visited Clemson for a junior day in late January and he visited North Carolina for a junior day in March.
6-5 Wright State graduate transfer Mark Alstork announced a final four Thursday night of USC, Pitt, Illinois and LSU. He visited those four along with Georgetown and LSU. “Comfort” Alstork said was the one common denominator of his final four. He originally planned to announce his decision Saturday but Thursday night he said he most likely will push his announcement back to a later date to be determined.
DL Alim McNeill of Raleigh Thursday night released his top ten and USC and Clemson are included. Also on his list are North Carolina, Florida State, Virginia Tech, Michigan, Louisville, NC State, Penn State and Duke. McNeill visited USC for the spring game and he made a visit to Clemson later in April. He’s also visited Virginia Tech this spring.
USC offered DL Cameron Wire (6-6 271) of Gonzales, LA.
USC offered 2020 DE Chantz Williams of Orange Park, FL. Florida State also has offered.
USC offered 2020 OL Jalen Rivers (6-6 327) of Orange Park, FL. Other offers include Alabama, Florida, FSU, Georgia and Georgia Tech.
USC target QB Tyler Shough of Chandler, AZ was offered by North Carolina.
The third annual EPT Skills Showcase is set for Sunday at Ridge View High School. Among the players expected to attend are QB Dakereon Joyner, DE Xavier Thomas and DL Stephon Wynn Jr. Joyner and Thomas have made their college decisions. Wynn is taking the process much slower and is still considering several programs including USC, Clemson, Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn, Notre Dame and others. USC coach Will Muschamp has made a concerted effort with Wynn and has put the Gamecocks solidly in the running despite Wynn’s legacy connection to Clemson.
