The USC football team returned to the practice field Monday morning after time away for spring break. Several offensive players were made available to the media after practice and a few things we learned were….
- There was a little dust up between departed quarterback Brandon McIlwain and quarterbacks coach Kurt Roper during the practice prior to McIlwain announcing his transfer.
- Offensive lineman Donnell Stanley actually had surgery on his ankle for torn ligaments after being hurt on the first play of the Vanderbilt game and that’s why he wasn’t able to make it all the way back last season.
- Running back AJ Turner remains out of spring practice with a hamstring injury while receiver OrTre Smith is practicing full speed.
- Tight end Hayden Hurst likes lift weights all the time.
Here’s what some of the players were saying to the media Monday. Pro Day is Tuesday and defensive players will do interviews Wednesday.
