Furman once again turned to the roots of the Dick Sheridan era with the hiring of Clay Hendrix as its 23rd head football coach. The former Paladin offensive lineman and offensive line coach was officially introduced Monday afternoon.
Hendrix spent the past ten seasons as associate head coach and offensive line coach at Air Force.
At Furman Hendrix played for Sheridan and his line coach was Robbie Caldwell. And he later served as offensive line coach under Jimmy Satterfield.
Hendrix replaces another Furman alum, Bruce Fowler, who resigned after six seasons and a 27-43 record.
