Tonight we welcomed into the program USC pitching coach Jerry Meyers to talk about the Gamecock arms.
His staff, as a whole, has now reached 42 consecutive scoreless innings in a row. This is the second time this season the USC staff has achieved such a streak. HIs arms have compiled 9 shutouts in their first 16 games to open up the 2014 campaign.
Meyers elaborated on why his staff is having such success thus far, he didn’t stop short of attributing some of that success to who he deems “the best catcher in the country” in Grayson Griener.
He also updated us on the status of Evan Beal, and looked ahead to Gamecocks upcoming schedule, headed into conference play.
