Tonight we welcomed into SportsTalk USC quarterbacks coach G.A. Mangus to talk about the 2014 gridiron campaign that will be here before you know it.
The offense at USC has been led by record-setting quarterback Connor Shaw for the better part of the past three seasons, but Shaw has exhausted his eligibility in Columbia and will be taking his game to the next level.
Luckily for Mangus, his unit in particular is not bare. The backup QB for the previous two seasons, Dylan Thompson, has seen plenty of snaps in meaningful action when Shaw has gone down with injury, and had plenty of success, including a win at Death Valley in 2012 over arch rival Clemson.
We had Mangus, who is in Atlantic City for the weekend, provide his thoughts on how much he believes the offense will change with Thompson under center as opposed to Shaw, and got a better feel for who will be backing up Thompson to start off the 2014 season.
