Former Clemson offensive tackle, Bob Mayberry, died this morning at the age of 51 after battling cancer. Mayberry was a starter on the 1982 ACC Championship team and was a key reserve on the 1981 National Championship team.
Mayberry enrolled in Clemson in 1971 from Sharon, PA and lettered in all four years at Clemson. He played in 34 games during his career at Clemson, starting in 20 of them. He started seven games in 1980, two in 1981 and started all 11 games in 1982.
During his tenure at Clemson, Mayberry had a 35-10-1 record and won two ACC Championships. After graduation in 1982 Mayberry went into the car business and had a car dealership in Monroe, NC.
