USC cornerback Stephon Gilmore was the tenth pick in the NFL Draft Thursday night. Gilmore was chosen by the Buffalo Bills. Here’s what it looked like on television as Roger Goodell made the announcement (yes, you have to sit thru a commercial).
Gilmore is USC’s first first round pick since cornerback Johnathan Joseph by Cincinnati in 2006, and the first taken in the top ten since receiver Troy Williamson went to Minnesota with the 7th pick in 2005.
Gilmore was a three year starter for the Gamecocks. He compiled 181 total tackles and 8 interceptions. He also returned punts and was used a few times at quarterback in the Wildcat formation.
