USC athletic director Eric Hyman did not want to discuss anything related to Darrin Horn Monday night. Hyman was attending the selection show party for the USC women’s basketball team and said he wanted to keep the spotlight on the women’s team that had just earned its first NCAA bid since 2003.
“This is an exciting event,” Hyman told a reporter asking about Horn. “We are going to focus on the women.”
Hyman told another reporter he was “still working” on Horn’s situation. He also declined to share his timeframe on when he plans to or, perhaps already did, meet with Horn.
“If it unfolds at the appropriate time, you will be well aware of it, Hyman said. I’m not going to keep you out in the cold.”
Below is the brief exchange between Horn and State Newspaper beat writer Andy Shain.
