DE Jaylen Miller of Gaffney will attend Clemson’s junior day Saturday. Miller was at North Carolina Wednesday night for the Tar Heels’ basketball game with Maryland. “I saw pretty much the same things I saw last time, but just in more detail,” Miller said. “I met with coach Brewer and some of the other coaches.” Miller has offers from North Carolina, Duke, Furman and Alabama State. He said he’s not hearing much from USC.
Miller’s teammate, 2014 prospect WR Shaq Davis, also visited North Carolina Wednesday night. He has also been to Clemson and has no other visits planned right now. Davis is a member of the Gaffney basketball team and will be playing in the state championship game Friday night. He has early offers from Clemson, USC, North Carolina and Tennessee.

Lawson has not visited Clemson but plans to do so within the next three weeks. “I’m looking forward to getting up there,” Lawson said. “I don’t know much about them but I have some teammates that have already been and they rave about it.” Other visits planned include Ole Miss, Florida State, Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Southern Cal and Cal. “I’m kind of ready to get the recruiting process over,” he said. “I want to commit but I don’t want to be one of those guys that commits and then de-commits. Not saying that can’t happen because things can change, but it’s not what I want.” He did not name a timeframe for his announcement. As a junior, Lawson had 80 tackles, 31 for loss and 15 sacks.

He is hearing from Alabama, Auburn and Oregon while receiving some letters from USC. He named Clemson as one of his top schools. “I don’t really have a list but Clemson is definitely one of my tops schools,” Barber said. He visited earlier in the year and came away with a strong impression. “I definitely liked it,” he said. “It’s got a real college town feel. They are one big family up there.” His other visits were to Alabama, Auburn and Georgia Tech. “I liked Auburn too,” he added. Barber was scheduled to return to Clemson this Saturday but a weightlifting meet has changed his plans. “I can’t make it this weekend but I will go up during spring practice,” Barber said. An injury shortened his junior campaign but he did rush for nearly 400 yards in four games. He does not have a favorite.
