It was the same old song and dance for the USC basketball team in a 59-48 loss to Vanderbilt Wednesday night in Nashville. The Gamecocks managed to keep things close for a good portion of the game before the Commodores pulled away in the final eight minutes.
Vanderbilt had a below average shooting night, making just 4-16 (25%) from three and finishing with at 38% from the floor. If not for an even worse shooting night from USC (32%), the Dores very well could have gone down on their home floor.
Bruce Ellington led USC with 15 points. He hit three of his four 3-point attempts and was 5-13 overall. He also had four rebounds and four assist. Damien Leonard was the only other Gamecock to reach double figures, finishing with 10 points.
