USC’s extended its SEC slide in a 63-52 road loss Saturday afternoon at Auburn. The Gamecocks fall to 0-4 in the SEC, and dating back to last season they have dropped eight straight conference games. Carolina’s last conference win was 11 months ago on February 22nd at home against Ole Miss.
USC carried a 28-24 lead into the half, but Auburn turned it on the second half with 39 points and the Tigers were in control of the game for most of the final ten minutes. The Gamecocks didn’t have any player hit double digits in the scoring column. Bruce Ellington and Anthony Gil finished tied for the team high in points with nine a piece.
Damontre Harris only scored six points, but made his presence felt on defense with six blocked shots and seven rebounds. The six blocked shots were a career high.
The Gamecocks are 8-10 overall and will return home to face Alabama Wednesday night at 8:00.
