Tennessee’s search for a new defensive coordinator no longer includes Clemson’s Kevin Steele. It did, at one time.
Steele, a Tennessee graduate, was contacted by Vols head coach Derek Dooley last Thursday. According to a source, the two discussed the position and some contract terms but an offer never was made. The source said Dooley has not recontacted Steele since that conversation.
Steele has three years left on his contract at Clemson which does include a buyout should he leave for another position.
