The Knoxville News-Sentinel reported Monday night the Vols are pursuing former USC and Clemson assistant coach Rich Bisaccia for their special teams coaching position. Bisaccia currently is special teams coach with the San Diego Chargers. The report said the two sides are close on an agreement.
Bisaccia’s name also has been talked about in connection with the running backs job at USC. Bisaccia owns property in the Blythewood area and has talked about wanting to coach again in South Carolina.
Tennessee also has interest in Clemson defensive coordinator Kevin Steele for the same position on its staff. Also being mentioned for that job are former Miami coach Randy Shannon, Baylor defensive coordinator Phil Bennett and former Illinois and Florida coach Ron Zook.
