The USC basketball team will take a positive feeling into the Christmas holiday after defeating Southeastern Louisiana 62-43 Wednesday night at Colonial Life Arena. The Gamecocks improved to 5-6 with their third win in the last four games.
The Gamecocks led 25-16 at halftime and were never threatened in the second half. Their defensive pressure led to 26 turnovers, including 11 steals, and 30 points. The defense made up for another poor shooting effort as the Gamecocks shot just 36% from the floor.
Anthony Gill and Malik Cooke led USC with 14 points each. Damien Leonard had 8 points off the bench.
The Gamecocks return to action at home December 28th against Wofford.
