The Clemson basketball team won its second game in 48 hours at Littlejohn Coliseum Monday night. Devin Booker scored 13 points to lead the Tigers to an easy 70-45 win over Alabama State. The Tigers will now pack their bags for a trip to Hawaii to play in the Diamond Head Classic later this week.
Brad Brownell was pleased with his team’s offensive performance.
“We had a nice offensive performance,” Brownell said following the game. “We shot 50 percent. We got 25 free throws, which is something we’ve been talking about. We had 12 offensive rebounds and 16 assisted baskets. So we had good stats, except for turnovers. We maybe attempted one or two threes that were a little quick, but in games like this, that’s probably to be expected.”
Booker added eight rebounds to go with his baker’s dozen point total. Milton Jennings also put together a solid night with 12 points off the bench. The Tigers shot over 50 percent for the game.
The win improves Clemson to 6-4 this season. Alabama State falls to 2-8.
